That’s the motto of the Queensland Former Origin Greats (FOGS).

FOGS is a non-profit organisation founded by the late Richard ‘Tosser’ Turner in 1997. FOGS membership is exclusive to the elite group of players who have represented Queensland at State of Origin Level since its inception in 1980 including some of Australia’s most recognisable household sporting names, including the late Arthur Beetson, Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis, Shane Webcke, Allan Langer, Darren Lockyer, Johnathan Thurston and Cameron Smith.

Tosser’s dream was to keep the Origin spirit alive in Queensland, but over the past twenty years, FOGS have utilised the game of Rugby League and the profound impact it has to unify communities and develop an organisation focusing on a number of key objectives.  One of the foremost objectives of the organisation is the commitment to raising funds for designated charities and causes.

The organisation is anticipating that the two annual events in 2019, the FOGS Annual Charity Lunch along with the FOGS Gala Lunch will enable us to surpass the $1 million donation milestone. These events enables FOGS to celebrate the feat State of Origin is, the greatest interstate rivalry this country has ever seen, while providing a unique opportunity to raise much needed funds for charities such as the Mardi Jackson Foundation, Hear and Say Centre, 4ASD Kids, White Ribbon Australia, Mark Hughes Foundation, Epilepsy Queensland, Smart Pups, HeartKids and MND and Me.

Three significant donations were made at the 2018 event, $28,000 to Smart Pups, $20,000 to HeartKids which was matched by Virgin Money equating to a total donation of $40,000 and $20,000 to MND and Me, these donations were made as a direct result of the monies raised at the event in 2017.
