The continuation of Queensland’s dominance in the Origin Arena was again cemented with the Maroons taking out the 2017 Holden State of Origin Series, winning both Game II (ANZ Stadium) and Game III (Suncorp Stadium).
The 2017 Series welcomed new blood with Milford, Napa, Holmes, Wallace, Hess, Glasby, Munster and Hunt debuting; while Game III saw Immortal in waiting and legend of the game, Johnathan Thurston, farewelled from representative football.
The Series also saw Cooper Cronk awarded the FOGS Dick ‘Tosser’ Turner Medal joining the elite group of players to have made 20 appearances in the Origin Arena, while Maroons Captain, Cameron Smith made history reaching his 40 game appearances milestone.
