FOGS Cup and FOGS Colts Challenge to stay for three more years

FOGS Executive Chairman Gene Miles has announced that the organisation is about to renew its deal as naming rights sponsor of the Queensland Rugby League’s FOGS Cup and FOGS Colts Challenge for another three years.

Gene said the FOGS were finalising the last details of the agreement, extending a relationship between FOGS and the QRL that was first brokered by our late Chairman, the great Dick “Tosser” Turner, back in 2006.

At the time of the initial three-year deal, Tosser said the sponsorship was an important part of the FOGS’ charter of developing rugby league at all levels across Queensland.

“The ultimate goal will to be bring young players through these competitions, who go on to become Origin heroes of the future,” Tosser said at the time.

Gene said while many years may have passed since the deal was first signed, Tosser’s mandate that FOGS actively assist in the development and betterment of rugby league in Queensland remained unchanged.

“We are very pleased that the FOGS’ association with the QRL will continue for another three seasons,” Gene said.

“We are just tying up the loose ends now, but we are delighted that our great relationship with managing director Rob Moore (main image) and the QRL will continue formally at least until the end of 2014.

“As well as fulfilling Tosser’s wishes of continuing to support league in Queensland, the sponsorship has worked very well for us on a commercial level as well, giving us great exposure and brand recognition.

“The competitions are now known and recognised as the FOGS Cup and FOGS Colts Challenge, and it is an association we are very proud of.”
