Wally Lewis, Allan Langer and WOW Brisbane Broncos Confirmed for Indigenous Expo

Origin legends including Wally Lewis, Allan Langer, Steve Walters, Gene Miles, Michael Hancock, Gary Belcher, Gavin Allen, Sam Backo, Kerry Boustead, Greg Conescu, Greg Oliphant and Arthur Beetson will appear with current WOW Brisbane Broncos players at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday 7 October, 9am -3pm, for the Former Origin Greats Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo .

Federal Minister for Employment Participation, Senator, the Honourable Mark Arbib will officially opening the expo at 9am.

The players will be joining 60 employers and training providers including some of Australia's most recognized names Commonwealth Bank, Qantas, Woolworths, TAFE Queensland, Xstrata, Griffth University, Australia Post and Construction Skills QLD.  All exhibitors will be looking to provide employment and training positions to Indigenous job seekers and school leavers.

FREE event expected to attract over 2000 people eager to speak with their heroes and explore opportunities to secure their future.  Players will be available to speak to Indigenous job seekers during the day and sign autographs.

This expo is the final event in a series of six expos held throughout Queensland during 2009 that has involved over 200 exhibitors from a wide range of industries and attracted over 7000 Indigenous job seekers.

Managed by the Former Origin Greats organisation and funded by the Australian Government, the expos provide Indigenous job seekers and school leavers with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Queensland Rugby League royalty about life, their future and explore opportunities with prominent Queensland education, employment and training providers. The event is supported by Construction Skills Queensland and Australia Post.
